our process

STEP 1

Preliminary Quote

You can come in to our offices, send us an email or request an estimate with the following information to get a quote:

A picture of the existing space to be renovated.
A rough drawing with measurements and dimensions of the surface space.
If you require a supply only or supply and install.
If you have an idea of the type of material you would like to use.
Preferred edge design.
Special finish on the material (ie. leathered, honed).

STEP 2

Finalize Details

Choose material and tag the slabs at Moonstone Granite Ltd. or one of our suppliers.
Choose final edge designs.
Approve the Secondary Quote.
Decide on seams (if there are any).
Sign the Moonstone Granite Sales Agreement contract.
Pay 50% deposit.
Book a template date.

STEP 3

Template Day

Cabinets must be set and fastened in their permanent places. No end gables, doors, or drawers should be missing.
Sinks and appliances should be at job site for template.
Someone must be on site for the template appointment.

STEP 4

Production

If slabs were tagged at a supplier, they will be delivered to Moonstone Granite Ltd.
We offer Cut-Previews for stones that have a lot of movement with veining and colour patterns. We take photos of your slabs and plan where pieces will be cut. This allows you to work with us to design exactly where each part of the slab will appear on your finished surface.
Our CNC machines are programmed to cut exactly to your planned designs.
The edge finishes are left to our talented team of stone artisans who work to customize the final details that are beyond the scope of machines.

STEP 5

Pick-Up or Installation

Once your job is complete a representative from Moonstone Granite Ltd. will contact you to come pick up your finished pieces, or schedule an install appointment.

For Installs:

Someone must be on site for the install appointment.
Installations normally takes a few hours, however some jobs may take longer.
We recommend removing items from cupboards before the appointment to avoid dust during the install.
When the material is installed and cleaned our installers will apply a penetrating sealer to the surface.
At this time the install is complete and installers will collect final payment.

For the install we require:

Sinks, faucets, fixtures, appliances to be on site.
Running water and electricity.

STEP 6

Post Installation

Do NOT: touch the stone, install any plumbing, faucets, cook tops, top-mount sinks or tubs for a full 24 hours post installation.
If you have any concerns contact us immediately before you make any further installations (ie. gas, plumbing, cook tops, sinks etc.)
We want to be certain you’re 100% satisfied. We invite you to contact us with any questions or concerns through the lifetime of your natural stone. The best compliment is a referral to family and friends. Enjoy!
